Peter Steinberger 44736749eb feat(skills): custodian-only skill library (first wave) (#126186)
* feat(skills): add custodian-only skill library

* docs: document custodian skill library

* refactor(skills): make custodian skills concrete and non-interactive

Replace docs-link-first playbooks with verified openclaw config/message/infer
one-liners; drop interactive onboard references; encode the in-session
config-write policy boundary (models.*/secrets.* via trusted shell).

* fix(skills): corrections from live A/B testing of custodian skills

--agent required for models list/auth list in multi-agent rosters; drop
hanging channels capabilities probe; telegram target is chatId; roster-safe
prove via agent turn (infer model run has no --agent and dead-ends
multi-agent setups); note expected not-found on pre-setup config get.

* fix(skills): front-load harness plugin check in add-model-provider Gather

A/B timing showed the codex plugin dependency surfacing mid-Prove, at the
most expensive point (approval gate + turn boundary). Checking and
remediating during Gather removes the stall.

* fix(skills): keep status inventory unfiltered while scoping custodian source

buildWorkspaceSkillStatus forwarding agentId activated the loader's agent
allowlist filter, dropping excluded skills from the workshop's status view
(collection-review regression on CI). New closed agentSkillFilter mode lets
agentId scope custodian-source discovery without filtering the entry list,
per the documented status invariant.

Peter Steinberger 572e9f907a fix(skills): expand explicit references on agent turns (#124784)
* fix(skills): expand explicit references on agent turns

Route generic Gateway, CLI, webhook, and local agent turns through the same explicit skill-reference renderer as channel auto-replies. Keep original transcript text, preserve unknown slash behavior, and fail visibly for allowlist-hidden skills.

Maintainer review: scoped Option 1 — generic agent turns expand both $skill-name and leading /skill-name args through shared skill rendering; they do not run the channel command dispatcher, and all other slash commands retain their existing behavior.

* fix(skills): bound explicit reference prompts

* fix(skills): prefer allowed reference collisions

* fix(skills): preserve command invocation boundaries

* fix(skills): reject hidden channel slash commands

* perf(skills): skip literal dollar discovery

Shakker 3bc61f2966 fix: keep always within OS compatibility (#123731)
Skill and hook status now preserve OS incompatibility when `always` bypasses runtime requirements, matching existing loader behavior and clarified documentation.

Peter Steinberger 18163ba269 feat(skills): resolve explicit $skill references on every channel (#123387)
* feat(skills): resolve explicit $skill references on every channel

Explicit $skill-name references from authorized senders now resolve on all
channels, not only WebChat/Control UI, and explicitly referenced skills are
always invoked: disable-model-invocation keeps a skill out of model-initiated
selection but no longer blocks user-initiated explicit references. Hidden
skills carry their SKILL.md path in the injected instruction since the model
cannot discover them from the available-skills prompt.

Part of #123367

* fix(ci): dedupe run-attempt-state vitest lane ownership

Main is red on the full-suite ownership audit from the #123235 x #123363 double-registration race. Keep run-attempt-state.test.ts beside its run-attempt siblings in the extra lane and heal the audit here per the land-onto-red-main policy.

Peter Steinberger 49b5b862ac feat: node-hosted plugins — dynamic tools, MCP servers, and skills (#90431)
* feat: node-hosted plugins — dynamic tools, MCP servers, and skills

Nodes become declarative plugin hosts:
- node.pluginTools.update: node hosts publish plugin-registered agent tool
  descriptors; gateway materializes them as agent tools executing via
  node.invoke under the node command allowlist, with tools.effective
  invalidation and node online/offline removal.
- Trusted paired-node descriptors: no gateway-side plugin registration
  required; gateway.nodes.pluginTools.enabled off-switch (default on);
  description/count caps; deterministic node-prefixed collision names.
- Declarative node-hosted MCP: nodeHost.mcp.servers (McpServerConfig shape)
  starts MCP clients on the node host, publishes tools as pluginId node-mcp,
  executes via built-in mcp.tools.call.v1 with per-layer timeouts, failure
  isolation, and orphan-safe shutdown. No re-pairing when servers change.
- Node-hosted skills: node.skills.update publishes ~/.openclaw/skills
  content (64 skills/64KB/512KB caps both sides); gateway merges them into
  the skills snapshot while connected and exec host=node is available, with
  node:// locators, node-prefixed collisions, disabled command dispatch,
  and gateway.nodes.skills.enabled + nodeHost.skills.enabled switches.
- Security: node-supplied pluginIds cannot satisfy pluginId-scoped tool
  allowlists unless gateway-registered; reserved node-mcp id requires the
  core MCP descriptor shape; protocol registry kept out of public
  plugin-sdk dts.
- E2E: pond harness proves publication, MCP round-trip, skills locator, and
  disconnect/reconnect for all three surfaces.

* style: format node-plugin-tools test

* fix(skills): keep status loader unfiltered when eligibility is passed

skills.status started passing eligibility for the node-skill merge, which
flipped loadWorkspaceSkillEntries into filtered mode and dropped disabled
skills from status reports (QA plugin-lifecycle-hot-reload timeout). Status
now merges node skills explicitly around an unfiltered load. Also: regen
docs_map for new node docs sections; add the intentional node-host MCP
onclose suppression to the lint-suppression allowlist.

Patrick Erichsen c0312748c4 feat: support git and local skill installs (#84793) 2026-05-20 21:12:03 -07:00
clawsweeper[bot] 5702858553 feat(cli): support installing skills to shared global directory via --global (#83705)
Summary:
- Adds `--global` to `openclaw skills install` and `openclaw skills update`, routing ClawHub installs and updates to the shared managed skills root with docs, changelog, and CLI command tests.

Alex Knight 9bb4d1377a Fix brew-only skill installs in Docker (#82845)
Summary:
- The branch hides brew-only skill dependency installers during Linux-container onboarding when Homebrew is unavailable, adds container-specific missing-brew guidance, and updates docs, tests, i18n, and changelog text.
- Reproducibility: yes. Current main source inspection shows onboarding can offer a brew-only missing skill su ... ric missing-brew failure; the PR body also includes Testbox container output for before and after behavior.

Automerge notes:
- No ClawSweeper repair was needed after automerge opt-in.

Validation:

* feat(skills): add upload archive install RPC

- src/agents/skills-archive-install.ts:83 [BOT-SCOPE]: `withExtractedArchiveRoot()` still returns unstructured extract failures, so exact transient-vs-terminal classification should be moved into the shared install-flow layer in a follow-up rather than expanding this PR.

Otto Deng 8ca1f6d590 fix(skills): scan grouped skill directories
* fix(skills): scan nested subdirectories for grouped skill layouts

Previously, skill discovery only checked immediate children of the
skills root for SKILL.md files. Skills organized in subdirectories
(e.g. ~/.openclaw/skills/coze/koze-retrieval/SKILL.md) were silently
ignored.

Now, when an immediate child directory does not contain a SKILL.md,
its own children are checked one level deeper. This supports grouped
skill layouts while keeping the scan depth bounded (max 2 levels) to
avoid unbounded filesystem traversal.

The existing per-source skill count limits and containment checks
still apply to nested discoveries.

Fixes #56915

* test(skills): cover nested grouped skill discovery

* fix(skills): cache contained-path checks and cap nested scans

- Reuse skillDirRealPath captured during the collection phase so the load
  loop no longer re-runs resolveContainedSkillPath on the same directory.
- Apply the per-root candidate cap (and the matching warning log) when
  descending into nested grouped skill directories, matching the outer
  scan's behavior.

Addresses Greptile P2 feedback on PR #72534.

* fix(skills): load grouped skill directories under skills roots

* fix(clownfish): address review for ghcrawl-156697-autonomous-smoke (1)
