* fix(macos): let AI setup proceed when the login keychain is unavailable
A missing/locked login keychain made GatewayActivationBindingKeyStore
unable to mint the activation binding key, and onboarding refused every
candidate and manual-key activation with 'Secure storage is unavailable'.
The fingerprint only protects the crash/relaunch resume receipt, so
degrade instead of refusing: write an ownerless pending record (still
matched exactly, never as a wildcard), keep the full activation-ambiguity
window, and skip only restart reconciliation, which needs fingerprint
proof by design. A relaunch then repeats activation rather than trusting
the receipt.
Reported by Peter Steinberger.
* fix(macos): render proper provider brand icons in onboarding AI setup
Nearly every provider icon URL the gateway sends is a simpleicons.org
SVG, which AsyncImage cannot decode, so the Connect your AI page fell
back to generic symbols for every tool and provider; the two GitHub
avatar PNGs that did render clashed as full-color rasters.
Bundle nine monochrome template marks (Simple Icons CC0; xAI from
LobeHub icons, MIT) and resolve them local-first by brand id/kind,
including composed choice ids like xai-oauth. Remote icons now load via
NSImage(data:), which decodes SVG, with vector payloads tinted as
templates so plugin-supplied icons blend too. Every glyph sits in a
uniform rounded well; install cards show host-only links, hover states,
and a softer translucent surface shared by all setup sections instead
of controlBackgroundColor.
Requested by Peter Steinberger.
* fix(macos): use failable UTF-8 decode in icon vector sniffing (swiftlint)
* fix(macos): address ClawSweeper review of onboarding icon/keychain changes
- Refuse relaunch handoff from ownerless (keychain-unavailable) completed
receipts at the reconciliation trust boundary; such receipts can belong
to replaced credentials, so setup repeats a fresh activation instead.
- Decode and pass the canonical brandId the gateway sends for candidates,
auth options, and manual providers so bundled marks resolve for opaque
choice ids.
- Scan the bounded XML prolog (comments, declarations, doctype) when
sniffing remote SVG payloads; comment-prefixed vectors now tint as
templates.
* refactor(macos): move setup error enum to support file (swiftlint file length)
* chore(i18n): refresh native source inventory
* fix(macos): give keychain-unavailable activations attempt-specific unbound leases
A nil owner made concurrent unbound attempts indistinguishable: a stale
attempt's delayed response could complete or clear a newer attempt's
record. Unbound attempts now mint a random per-attempt lease id with a
sentinel fingerprint — live matching stays attempt-exact, restart
reconciliation's fingerprint guard rejects them, and relaunch
verification refuses unbound receipts before any handoff.
* chore(macos): ship third-party artwork notices with provider icons
Simple Icons (CC0) attribution and the LobeHub Icons MIT license text
for the xAI mark now travel inside the bundled ProviderIcons directory.
* fix(ci): refresh plugin-sdk API manifest for private-type hashing
#120975 changed the baseline generator to hash private types but landed
without regenerating the manifest; the check-plugin-sdk-api-baseline
lane was gated off on that PR and first failed here. Regenerated via
pnpm plugin-sdk:api:gen with no SDK surface change in this branch.
* fix(macos): let onboarding replace an auto-connected AI
The AI page auto-tests the best detected candidate and connects without
asking, then hides every alternative route. Add 'Choose a different AI'
to the connected banner: a re-detect pass with auto-activation
suppressed that ends at the picker (candidates, provider sign-in, API
keys). Also disable the manual key Connect button while another test
runs (submitManualKey silently dropped the tap), and isolate a test
that read the machine's real resume store.

* fix(macos): surface real daemon errors past the Node banner
Gateway daemon failures summarized as 'Node.js v26.5.1' because the
summary takes the last non-empty line and Node fatal errors end with a
version banner. Drop trailing banner lines and prefer the last
error-shaped line above them; all other output keeps its last line.

* feat(macos): hand onboarding off to the dashboard custodian
Native onboarding now ends once inference verifies: welcome, connection,
install (when needed), AI setup. Finish opens the dashboard at
/custodian?onboarding=1, where the custodian onboarding owns memory
import, channels, app recommendations, and the hatch (browser-first per
the onboarding redesign). The native memory-import and permissions
pages leave the first-run flow; 'Set up later' keeps the native ready
page. The native navigation bridge gains a validated optional search
field so the handoff can request onboarding chrome; the URL fallback
carries the query alongside the token fragment.

* refactor(macos): delete the unreachable native memory-import module
The dashboard handoff removed the memory-import page from every flow,
leaving the module reachable only from tests. CI's dead-code scan
rightly flagged the first orphans; remove the whole path (model, page,
mascot wiring, tests) instead of trimming symbol by symbol. The
dashboard's own memory-import surface owns the feature.

Review findings on the rename: macOS resume store now migrates activation
leases persisted under the retired crestodian UserDefaults key so an app
upgrade cannot orphan a live activation; open-tui results carry
returnToShell so bare /openclaw re-enters the OpenClaw shell instead of
exiting the CLI.
Refs #107237
User-facing name is now OpenClaw (the system speaks); internal code name is
system-agent. Gateway methods crestodian.* -> openclaw.chat/openclaw.setup.*,
agent tool -> openclaw, reserved agent ids openclaw + retired crestodian.
openclaw setup routes: onboarding flags -> onboard, -m/--yes -> system agent,
bare configured interactive -> OpenClaw chat, unconfigured -> onboarding.
Hidden crestodian CLI and /crestodian TUI aliases kept; docs moved to
docs/cli/openclaw.md with redirect stub. macOS/Android strings in lockstep.

* feat(crestodian): AI-first conversational onboarding with typed-op guardrails
Interactive `openclaw onboard` (and bare `openclaw` on a fresh install) now
opens the Crestodian conversation: detection-backed first-run proposal
(Claude Code/Codex logins, API keys), persona AI turns for every free-form
message (configless local-runtime fallback, 60s deadline, deterministic
degradation), approval-gated typed operations, chat-hosted channel setup
(`connect <channel>`), config get/schema read ops with secret redaction, and
a post-write validation hook that feeds schema errors back for a self-fix
turn. Adds the additive gateway `crestodian.chat` method so app clients run
the same conversation. Classic wizard stays behind --classic/explicit flags;
non-interactive automation unchanged; `--modern` becomes a deprecated alias
for `openclaw crestodian`.
* feat(macos): Crestodian chat onboarding and importance-ordered permissions
Replace the gateway step-wizard page with a Crestodian chat over the new
crestodian.chat method (works before any model auth exists), sort the
permissions page by importance with no scrolling, drop the redundant manual
refresh, and bump the onboarding version.
* feat(crestodian): run the custodian on the real agent loop with a ring-zero tool
Crestodian conversations now execute through the same embedded agent runner
as regular agents: a persistent agent session with a single construction-gated
`crestodian` tool wrapping the typed operations (read actions free; mutations
require approved=true asserted from explicit user consent, audited, with
post-write config validation fed back into the loop). The engine prefers the
loop (configured models or the Codex app-server fallback) and degrades to the
single-turn planner, then to deterministic commands. Setup approval seeds the
crestodian exec approval so local model harnesses can run; the configless
Codex backend config now enables exec and direct tool loading (it was
dead-on-arrival behind tools.exec.mode=deny and the tool-search index).
* test(crestodian): type the engine mock signatures for the core test lane
* fix(crestodian): map the advertised create_agent tool action
* fix(crestodian): host-verified approval arming and a macOS setup completion gate
Review findings: the model-supplied approved flag alone could authorize
ring-zero mutations (prompt injection / model error), and removing the macOS
wizard gate let users Next past the Crestodian page with nothing configured.
Mutating tool actions now also require host-verified consent (the engine arms
approval only when the user's actual message is an explicit yes), and local
macOS onboarding blocks advancing until setup authored the config, using the
same signal the old step wizard checked.
* fix(crestodian): bind approval to the exact proposed operation and gate dot navigation
A generic yes no longer authorizes arbitrary mutations: denied mutating tool
calls register a canonical operation fingerprint (host-owned, per session),
and an armed turn executes only the identical call, once. The denial message
is arming-aware so the approved turn self-heals in one roundtrip, and the
agent protocol pre-registers proposals. macOS onboarding page dots now honor
the same setup-completion gate as the Next button.
* fix(crestodian): redact sensitive wizard answers, skip logged-out CLIs, gate programmatic advance
Sensitive channel-wizard answers (tokens, passwords) are redacted from the
AI-visible conversation history; setup and the onboarding welcome never pick
or advertise a definitively logged-out CLI as the model; and macOS
handleNext() honors the page gates for programmatic callers (chat handoff)
just like the Next button.
* fix(crestodian): align the onboarding welcome's configured predicate with the app gate
A valid config carrying only a default model (partial/hand-written) now still
gets the first-run proposal instead of the ready guide, so the macOS setup
gate can always be satisfied from the conversation.
* fix(crestodian): armed turns can never mint their own executable proposal
An approval-mismatched call inside an armed turn no longer re-registers and
invites a retry (which let the model swap the approved operation for another
in the same turn); it voids the approval entirely and requires a fresh yes.
Proposals register only in unarmed turns, which the agent protocol already
does when proposing.
