* feat: make model persistence scope explicit
* fix: keep unauthorized model directives as plain text
An unauthorized sender's inline directives are cleared to plain text before
they are acted on, but the persistent write target was derived from the
directives as they arrived. An unauthorized `/model <provider/model> -a` or
`-g` therefore reached the owner-authority error return instead of the
plain-text path every other directive takes.
Derive the target, the authority flag, and the persist flag after the
clearing. Authorized senders skip the clearing, so their behavior is
unchanged; the only closure that captures the target is invoked well after
the new declaration site.
Covers both persistent flags with a regression test that fails on the prior
head with "Agent and global model defaults require owner authority or
operator.admin scope." and passes here.

* feat(models): make model selection scope configurable
Preserve current model-selection defaults when the optional scope preference is unset. Add explicit session, agent, and global overrides without broadening config-write authority.

Fix cross-client terminal history synchronization without letting stale snapshots erase in-flight responses. Bound orphaned stream assembly, preserve session and agent ownership, and cover real Gateway delivery, persistence races, reconnects, and stress bursts.
Closes#38829.
Credits prior issue investigation in #96252 and bounded-stream work in #109492.

User-facing name is now OpenClaw (the system speaks); internal code name is
system-agent. Gateway methods crestodian.* -> openclaw.chat/openclaw.setup.*,
agent tool -> openclaw, reserved agent ids openclaw + retired crestodian.
openclaw setup routes: onboarding flags -> onboard, -m/--yes -> system agent,
bare configured interactive -> OpenClaw chat, unconfigured -> onboarding.
Hidden crestodian CLI and /crestodian TUI aliases kept; docs moved to
docs/cli/openclaw.md with redirect stub. macOS/Android strings in lockstep.
Refs #107237
Adds `messages.responseUsage` (precedence session -> channel -> config default
-> off) so the persistent /usage footer can default-on, with three distinct
states: explicit on (tokens/full), explicit off (persisted), and unset (inherit
the configured default).
Unifies effective-value resolution behind a single channel-aware resolver
`resolveEffectiveResponseUsage` used by reply rendering, the no-arg /usage
toggle, the ACP control, and the gateway session-row builder; the row builder's
`effectiveResponseUsage` is carried through sessions.changed events, chat
snapshots, and the UI row so live consumers never go stale. `/usage reset`
(aliases inherit/clear/default) clears the override to inherit; only explicit
off persists; a full session reset preserves the preference. ACP "Usage detail"
gains an "inherit" option for unset sessions. Docs/help/completions updated; "on"
documented as a legacy alias; config-doc baseline regenerated.
Summary:
- This PR routes bare `openclaw` to classic onboarding for missing, empty, or metadata-only configs; keeps aut ... cs/changelog/tests; and narrows a Docker E2E boundary-check exception for an existing source-checkout lane.
- Reproducibility: not applicable. this is a feature/default-routing PR rather than a bug report. The branch p ... ill includes a fresh-state terminal run reaching `OpenClaw setup` and tests for the relevant config states.
Automerge notes:
- PR branch already contained follow-up commit before automerge: feat: start onboarding for fresh CLI installs
Validation:
- ClawSweeper review passed for head f4b2572f2e.
- Required merge gates passed before the squash merge.

Fixes#63195.
Closes#68162.
Closes#73546.
- Keep Control UI chat sends bound to the history-backed session id across reconnects.
- Accept chat.send sessionId at the gateway/protocol boundary and update generated Swift models.
- Resume the last selected TUI session for the same gateway/agent/scope when still present.
Validated by exact-SHA CI on PR #75948.

* fix(tui): improve colour contrast for light-background terminals (#38636)
Detect light terminal backgrounds via COLORFGBG and apply a WCAG
AA-compliant light palette. Adds OPENCLAW_THEME=light|dark env var
override for terminals without auto-detection.
Uses proper sRGB linearisation and WCAG 2.1 contrast ratios to pick
whichever text palette (dark or light) has higher contrast against
the detected background colour.
